Music Therapy Services of Simcoe County has offered internship placements since 2007. Interns may gain experience working in long-term care facilities, in group homes with adults with developmental disabilities, and with children at our clinic. The caseload is flexible and can be catered to the interests and learning goals of the intern. Interns have the opportunity to observe and learn with all members of our music therapy and interdisciplinary team. Weekly clinical supervision is provided by Heidi Flynn, RP, MTA. Interested applicants can forward their resume, cover letter and 2 references to email@example.com.
We welcome volunteers and students interested in learning more about what we do to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Although volunteer positions are not appropriate with some of our clients due to the sensitive nature of the therapeutic relationship, there are some group programs that would allow for volunteer experience. Volunteers will require an orientation, and applicants over 18 years of age will require a police check with vulnerable persons screening prior to starting.
